Assess your finances and check your eligibility for a housing loan and get an in-principle approval (IPA) from a bank or HDB.

Understanding all the taxes and fees involved in the entire buying process as well as the cost of maintenance and upkeep of the property.

PREFERENCES AND GOALS

​Evaluate your lifestyle preferences, long and short-term investment goals.

 

RESEARCH

Research on factors like proximity to amenities, schools, and public transport and its effects on property prices.

Understanding price Trends. Analyze current market trends and property prices in your desired location.

 

REAL ESTATE AGENT

Find a Reliable Agent who understands your needs and can guide you through the process. Let your agent arrange property viewings, help you shortlist potential options and eventually negotiate and secure the purchase for you.

 

MAKE AN OFFER AND SECURE THE PROPERTY

Decide on a reasonable offer based on market value and property condition. Secure the property by paying the option fee (usually 1% of the purchase price for a resale property and 5% upfront for a new launch property).

 

LAWYER

Engage a lawyer to handle the legal aspects, such as title searches, preparing the sales and purchase agreement, and transferring ownership.

 

COMPLETE THE PURCHASE

Confirm the purchase by way of Exercising OTP. Pay the stamp duty and exercise fee (usually 4% of the purchase price for a resale property and no payment at this stage for a new launch property) to confirm the purchase. 

 

Before completing the purchase, arrange for the remaining payment and legal fees. Complete the transaction and collect the keys to your new property.
